Prado West is a mixed-use, high end retail and luxury apartment development along Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point, CA.
The design includes two structures, consisting of two levels of below-grade garage, a street-level elevated post-tensioned slab supporting retail and amenity areas, a large courtyard and supporting the Street of Amber Lantern located between buildings with extensive landscaping, and post-tensioned concrete podium slabs supporting 2-3 stories of wood framing.
Total building footprint area is over 107,000 SF on 2.27 acres, supporting 109 residential units and 25,000 SF of retail spaces with 357 parking stalls.
Structural system for each building is a concrete post-tensioned slab with concrete shear walls supported on a combination of spread footings and drilled concrete piers. Site conditions required two-story concrete retaining walls with tie-backs and shoring.
